(HP-01) NATO SOF Human Performance Physical Trainer Course

Description

NATO SOF Human Performance Physical Trainer Course event image

The establishment of a NATO SOF Human Performance Trainer course has been identified as a critical requirement to help increase physical performance, reduce training injuries, accelerate return to duty and increase the operator lifecycle.  Participants will acquire the requisite body of knowledge and practical application with the intent of assisting with or leading the development and execution of a physical performance program within their unit, especially in absence of higher qualified HP personnel. The course uses a blended learning strategy that includes didactic lessons, small group instruction, case studies and practical application in the form of daily physical training and conditioning for educational delivery.

The course offers students the possibility to broaden their knowledge and practical skills in the most important aspects of physical training.  This will allow graduates to mitigate the capability gap by assisting their Human Performance Personnel and helping SOF units to implement and execute proper, evidence based physical training protocols.  Graduates will also become part of an international network of subject matter experts with varying backgrounds.

Aim

The course aim is to provide participants with the requisite body of knowledge combined with practical application with the intent of assisting with the development and execution of a physical performance programming within their unit.

  2. Students will be able to develop individual and unit training plans and instruct the most common physical training concepts and exercises.
  3. Students will be able to identify the most common physical training errors and misinformation and take corrective actions.
