NATO Combat Medical Simulation and TCCC Instructor course
TLDR – SOF Medical train the trainer. Learn how to utilise modern pre hospital simulation methods, equipment and facilities and gain TCCC instructor status over a 2 week period.
Who - Ideal students are SOF or conventional medical personnel directly responsible for SOF medical training at the operator, medic or higher level. Course enrolment priority is given to candidates currently in direct support of SOF elements.
What - This two week course teaches how to create effective medical curriculum based on the TCCC concept and augment that curriculum with combat medical simulation and simulators to support learning objectives. Students learn medical education theory, medical simulation concepts, adult learning principles and the advantages and limitations of a variety of combat medical simulators through hands on application in the NSHQ Allied Centre for Medical Education, a state-of-the-art combat medical simulation center. Students will create increasingly complex simulation scenarios for fellow students employing good medical simulation practices while becoming intimately familiar with combat medical simulators.
Course graduates will be able to coordinate home station use of NSHQ simulators on a space available basis through the NATO Capability Enhancement Program.
All students attending this course need to be comfortable speaking English in and in front of a group of fellow military service members.
Students must have sufficient knowledge and skills in TCCC at provider level. Teaching experience is desirable.
Be aware this course will be held over the weekend with only the sunday off.
