The SOCC JOC Course is designed to instruct students how to plan, execute and battle-track special operations at the SOCC level.
The J35 phase of the course focuses on the mission enablers and the concept of operations (CONOPS) development and approval processes. In addition to an internal SOCC perspective, the course also covers the coordination and delivery of support to higher headquarters, component commanders and subordinate special operations units.
The J33 phase of the course focuses on SOCC level battle-tracking and harmonisation of SOF effect within a common battlespace. Emphasis is placed on JOC processes and products that contribute to a commander's decision making process, battle rhythm and situational awareness. Students will learn how the SOCC monitors, assesses, directs, synchronises and harmonises in support of the employment of special operations air, maritime and ground task groups within the battlespace.
The course is conducted in large group plenary lessons, in small group practical exercises, and as a large group practical exercise in concert with the SOAC AOC Course (ADP-03).
Target Audience: This course is designed for officers, warrant officers, and senior non-commissioned officers who are likely to be employed by their nation as a staff member within a SOCC JOC.
