(SOF-SO-35607) NATO SOF Mental Performance and Resiliency Course

Description

The NATO SOF Mental Performance and Resiliency Course (NSMPRC) will equip qualified individuals providing mental skills training with knowledge in the following domains; self-awareness, self-regulation, motivated mindset, effective thinking, energy management, attention regulation, mindfulness, imagery, goal setting, memory, effective communication, applied training, and sleep. Course instruction will be delivered by SME’s with a combined experience of over 50 years working with Military Special Operations within the Alliance. Graduates will depart from the course with an enhanced knowledge of current mental skills training techniques as well as a plan for immediate implementation within their Nation’s SOF Human Performance Program.  

Aim

Objectives

By the end of this course, students will have a thorough understanding of the general philosophy and different aspects of Mental Performance and how they can be addressed in a comprehensive, interdisciplinary Human Performance Program.

Students will be able to assess strengths and challenges within their own program in relation to specific opportunities and demands within their organization.  Students will also be able to develop a plan to implement Mental Performance Capabilities based on a needs analysis and prioritization of efforts.

Target Audience

Students will be personnel tasked with working in, creating, overseeing, assisting or managing a SOF Mental Performance Program. This includes, but is not limited to operators, staff officers, medical personnel, coaches, instructors, or psychologists.

Requirements

There are no rank prerequisites. Participation of civilians is allowed.

Duty Position and Experience: Students should be personnel tasked with creating, overseeing, assisting or managing a SOF Mental Performance Program. A professional background in performance psychology is not required.

Security Clearance: A NATO Security clearance is not required.
