Course Information

SOF Air, providing Special Air Transport, contributes and supports the overall mission of NATO SOF as a key enabler.                        The current revision and alignment of the NATO SOF C2 structure and organization recommends implementing a Special Operations Air Command (SOAC) capability as a future requirement.

DEU SOAC, in close cooperation with SOFCOM's Air Development Division and NSOU, conducts a NATO SOF AirC2 Workshop/ CPX with subject matter experts representing all levels of authority within the NATO SOF Air structure.

The NATO SOF AirC2 Workshop/ CPX is designed to share ideas and discuss options to adapt the NATO SOF Air Decision Making Process (ADMP) to be aligned and harmonized with the future overall SOF C2 structure and requirements.

The aim is to implement a SOF AirC2 structure and process that is aligned with the requirements and integrated within all levels of authority in the SOF domain.

The purpose is to create a common understanding of the structure, organization and functions a SOAC must provide, delineating and adapting the current SOF AirC2 structure and ADMP in preparation of the transition into the new overall NATO SOF C2 layout

The scope of the CPX is to refine the ADMP, testing and validating the implementation of the new SOAC capability.          Furthermore, a clear delineation of roles, responsibilities and functions at all levels of authority within the SOF AirC2 structure is key for the successful transition.

The CPX Scenario used to test and validate the results  is based on the new ADD SOCC-24 adaption, providing mission sets that are related the current NATO operational environment and requirements.
