NATO Special Operations Medical Planning and Support Course – Task Group (SOMPSTG)
TLDR – SOF Medical planning course ran over 2 weeks. +++ recommended if you are involved with SOF medical planning.
Who - This course is recommended for junior medical officers, medics and medical planners who support SOF operations or senior medical officers, medics or planners from conventional medical systems with limited SOF experience who must interact with SOF medical elements. Course enrolment priority is given to candidates currently in direct support of SOF elements.
What - This two week course teaches NATO personnel providing Special Operations Forces (SOF) medical support key special operations medicine planning concepts for Military Assistance (MA), Direct Action (DA) and Special Reconnaissance (SR) missions. Students learn SOF operational theory as it applies to SOF medical support through a series of planning exercises and will leave with the ability to create a medical planning matrix for SOF operations at the operational and tactical levels.
All students attending this course need to be comfortable speaking English in and in front of a group of fellow military service members.
Be aware this course will be held over the weekend with only Sunday off.
