NATO Special Operations Medical Programme Development Course (SOMPDC) name change to NATO Special Operations Medical Leaders Course (SOMLC)

TLDR - SOF Medical Leaders Course ran over 5 days. ++ recommended to anyone in a Med HQ staff position, up to and including Medical Advisors.

Who - Ideal students are junior or mid-level medical advisors, medics or medical planners preparing to take senior SOF leadership positions or senior medical advisors, medics or medical planners from conventional medical systems with limited SOF experience who must interact with SOF medical elements. . Course enrolment priority is given to candidates currently in direct support of SOF elements.

What - This five-day course teaches Special Operations Forces (SOF) medicine executive medical leadership skills required to build and maintain a SOF medical system. Students learn how to maximize the components of a SOF medical system (Leadership, Planning, Communication, Training, Treatment, Evacuation and Supply) and interact with senior medical and command leadership to create the operational and strategic levels of SOF medical support. The course will prepare students to evaluate their SOF medical system against NATO SOF interoperability requirements and map campaign plans for improvement and sustainment.

All students attending this course need to be comfortable speaking English in and in front of a group of fellow military service members.
