Course Information

Description:   The NSIQC is a blended, synchronous and asynchronous design to equip NATO SOF and NATO centre of excellence educators (instructors, developers, course directors, branch heads, and course OPRs/SMEs) with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively design, implement, assess and evaluate, and manage blended learning environments in a multinational and NATO  cross-cultural setting. The course employs a comprehensive approach to adult learning methodologies through a combination of face-to-face instructions and online learning components. Participants learn how to integrate and use a learning management system, digital tools, and resources in their instructional and briefing strategies to enhance learning engagement and collaboration.

The course is delivered through a mix of online tutorials, in-person interactive lectures, small group activities, interactive online and face-to-face facilitated discussions, personalized lesson plan preparation, and various practical assignments. 

Duration: Distance Learning: 3 weeks with two-50-minute instructor-led sessions (first and last day); Residential Learning: 5 days

Course Aim

To support the NSOU instructors, course directors, branch heads, and course officers of primary responsibility (OPR) requirements; assist contributing subject matter experts (SMEs); and align the instructor core competencies with a common NSOU standard, based on the needs of NATO SOF learners attracted to technically rigorous educational content in a blended format, and multinational, cross-cultural NATO setting environment 

Objectives

At the end of the course, the students will be able to apply a range of instructional strategies and practices to plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate lesson plans relevant to their national and NATO Alliance staff functions.

  • NATO SOFCOM and NATO centres of excellence educators (instructors, developers, course directors, branch heads, and course officers of primary responsibility); and educational consultants (contracting instructors)  
  • SOFCOM select staff personnel serving in instructional roles
